Alexandra-Maria-Lara

Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian actor and TV host. She's best known as the lead in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. The only child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu, Alexandra began her career in show business at an early age. By the time she turned 16, Alexandra had landed prominent roles in a variety of TV dramas. She was praised for her performance on Der Tunnel. This paved for her to play other memorable parts, such as Adolf Hitler's secretary of state Traudl Junge. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were both nominated for Oscars. Alexandra's work has led her to work on a number of significant national and international productions. One of these is the British biographical film Control, Greek drama film The Dust of Time, and the French historic miniseries Napoleon. Also, she was on the jury of the Transylvania International Film Festival, and also at Cannes Film Festival.
